Friends of the Children Celebrating National Foster Care Month and Mental Health Awareness Month

In May we join the nationwide campaigns for both Foster Care and Mental Health Awareness month! Friends of the Children is proud to take this opportunity to build awareness around our 30-year history of empowering children and families to be healthy and flourish.

Friends of the Children’s professional mentoring model has proven, measurable outcomes in preventing entry into foster care, shortening lengths of stay, and reducing foster care re-entry as well as improving mental, emotional, and behavioral health. Follow along this month as Friends of the Children shares inspiring stories and data from across our 33 sites about the impact Friends have as they walk alongside children and families who face the greatest obstacles.

With May being both Mental Health Awareness Month and National Foster Care Month, Friends of the Children is working to bring visibility to both campaigns. We are partnering with the advertising company Billups on digital ads that put these campaigns front and center with the message: Putting Children First, No Matter What.

Billups has donated more than 2500+ digital placements in 26+ cites, which will be seen everywhere from bus stops and sidewalk signs to huge billboards and taxi screens! We are grateful for these ads for bringing awareness to this necessary and important work across the nation. We will also be amplifying this campaign in our Friends – National newsletter and on our social media with the hashtags:
