Simone Biles Wins $250,000 for Friends of the Children in Epic MrBeast Challenge

World Champion gymnast and youth advocate Simone Biles recently teamed up with YouTube creator MrBeast for an unforgettable high-stakes challenge, winning an incredible $250,000 in support of Friends of the Children.

The star-studded video features a massive lineup of elite athletes and celebrities competing to raise money for their favorite causes, including LeBron James, Caitlin Clark, Erling Haaland, Alysa Liu, Hardik Pandya, and Gordon Ramsay. But it was Simone’s breathtaking, 100-foot-high challenge that stole the show.

In Simone’s segment, MrBeast (Jimmy) and his team members Tareq and Nolan joined Simone on a platform suspended 100 feet in the air. Ahead of them: a series of four balance beams each narrower than the last. The rules were simple — the narrower the beam, the bigger the donation to Friends of the Children. One by one they each stepped up to the challenge:

  • 12-inch beam — $25,000. Tareq went first, with a little coaching from Simone on where to put his hands.
  • 8-inch beam — $50,000. Nolan crawled his way across to add another $50,000.
  • 4-inch beam — $75,000. Then MrBeast faced his fears and crossed the beam the same width Simone competes on. With Simone coaching him to keep his weight on the front of his feet — and cheering him on from the sidelines: "For the kids! For the kids!"
  • 1.5-inch beam — $100,000. That left the final beam for Simone: just 1.5 inches wide, less than half the width of the beam she normally competes on.

Before Simone stepped out, MrBeast asked Simone to share why she chose us as her selected charity, she said: "I chose Friends of the Children, which is a nonprofit organization that serves foster kids and the foster community. Because I was a foster kid, so I know what it's like."

"If you get scared, think of that," MrBeast told her.

With the pressure on, one careful step at a time, Simone flawlessly crossed the 1.5-inch beam, quietly saying “For the Friends” along the way. Her successful walk secured the final $100,000, bringing the grand total to $250,000!

Simone’s advocacy and support help us continue our work pairing youth facing some of life's hardest challenges like foster care and poverty with long-term, professional mentors for 12+ years, no matter what. Thank you to Simone Biles and MrBeast for your extraordinary generosity and for putting your nerves on the line to support youth across the country!
