Friends - Charlotte: Jeremiah focus his energies on positive outcomes

Jeremiah is a star student and loves science. He’s also a natural athlete and excels at football. His abilities in sport bolstered his confidence and he’s popular at school and in his community. He currently has three siblings and his mom is expecting a new baby in the spring. The family recently lost their grandmother after a short illness and are pulling together to support each other.

Jeremiah is part of our Friends of the Children – Charlotte program. Although he excels academically, Jeremiah does struggle with behaviors that led to two school suspensions last school year. His Friend worked to help him better regulate his behaviors and find more positive ways to express himself. They worked on being more focused and setting goals. Behavior improvements resulted in zero suspensions this school year. Jeremiah was even invited to join the school’s science club.
