Satya Som

National Grants Specialist

Satya Som joins Friends of the Children as a National Grants Specialist. Satya grew up in Revere, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. She received her bachelor’s degree in history from Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts while it was still an all-women’s school and received her master’s degree in history at Northeastern University where she made life-long friends through the trials and delights of graduate school rigor.

Her experience and passion are in storytelling – her favorite roles have always gravitated towards narration, education, and sparking the strangers’ curiosity in the human experience. She is excited to be a part of Friends, where she can use her skills to advocate for children’s growth and well-being.

In her free time, she lets her dog walk her through the woods, bakes a variety of goods for her children, and watches anime with her favorite adult.
