Meiling was first introduced to the Friends of the Children network in 2012 when she joined the Portland chapter. During her nine years at Friends of the Children – Portland, Meiling held positions in finance and development, most recently serving as the Associate Director of Development Strategy. Meiling has focused her career on supporting long-term sustainable social solutions that empower individuals and ignite systemic change. Her experience includes strategic planning, operational management, team leadership, grant writing, and relationship-based fundraising.
Meiling is half-Taiwanese and lived in Taiwan and Okinawa as a child, as well as several western states of the US. Meiling studied Psychology at the University of Montana; child development, behavior, health, and trauma healing continue to be fields of study for her. Meiling lives in Vancouver, WA with her three children. She enjoys writing, painting, cooking, cultural events, and weekend adventures with her family.
