Kevin Watson’s dedication to community service began during his middle school years in Dallas, TX, where he worked with The Bethlehem Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on supporting families in poverty. This early experience ignited his passion for helping others, setting the course for a life dedicated to making a difference. Kevin’s journey continued at Morehouse College, where he earned a B.A. with the help of a four-year music scholarship. His commitment to service and leadership flourished, paving the way for his professional career.
In 2017, Kevin made a pivotal shift, leaving the corporate world at AIG in Atlanta, GA, to fully immerse himself in social services in New York City. There, he dedicated his talents to Friends of the Children New York, where he held roles as a Mentor, Program Manager, and Interim Program Director for the National Office. Kevin’s exceptional service was nationally recognized in 2019 when he received the “Hero of the Year” award from Superbowl Champion Russell Wilson, further solidifying his impact as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change.
As the Associate Director of Development at Friends of the Children New York, Kevin achieved significant fundraising milestones and strengthened donor relationships. His close to eight years of dedication exemplify his unwavering commitment and leadership in transforming lives. Now, as Chief Expansion Officer for the Central and Eastern Regions at Friends of the Children National, Kevin continues to drive the organization’s mission forward, focusing on expanding and strengthening the impact in new regions. Kevin’s dedication to personal and professional growth remains strong. His enrollment in Columbia University’s Masters of Science Nonprofit Management program in the fall of 2024 reflects his ongoing commitment to the field and his belief in the power of leadership to make a lasting difference.
