Erica Reid is a passionate advocate for children and families with a proven commitment to child development, family support, and community impact. Erica’s professional work and leadership are driven by her personal mission of “Serving Youth, Supporting Families, and Strengthening Communities.” Throughout her career, Erica has dedicated herself to ensuring children & families truly feel safe, seen, and supported. She is known for championing those who are often overlooked, amplifying the voices of the unheard, and working to create systems and environments where families can thrive. Erica brings purpose, compassion, and strategic leadership to every role she serves. She possesses a deep belief that lasting change happens when communities invest in their youngest members and the families who raise them.
In addition to her role as Chief Program Officer at Friends of the Children, Erica is an Adjunct Instructor for Education Programs at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and a PBS NC Rootle Ambassador. A dedicated community leader, she is also an active member of numerous social and civic organizations. Erica resides in Charlotte, NC, where she continues to contribute to the strength and resilience of her community.
