National Alumni Coordinator

Cardeana Harris was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and is a proud 2013 graduate of Friends of the Children – Portland. As an alum of the program, Cardeana brings a unique perspective and personal connection to the mission of Friends of the Children and understands firsthand the lasting impact that meaningful relationships and consistent support can have in the lives of young people.

Cardeana earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Memphis. For the past six years, Cardeana has dedicated her career to educating, coaching, and mentoring young people throughout Mississippi and Tennessee. Her work has centered on helping youth recognize their potential,= develop confidence, and build the skills necessary to achieve their personal and educational goals.

As National Alumni Coordinator, Cardeana is excited to begin a new chapter with Friends of the Children and give back to an organization that has been an important part of her own journey. She looks forward to partnering with chapters across the national network to strengthen relationships with alumni and young adults, create meaningful opportunities for connection and engagement, and ensure that alumni voices remain an important part of the Friends of the Children community.

Cardeana is especially passionate about helping build an alumni network that continues to grow and thrive for years to come, creating opportunities for alumni to stay connected, support one another, and contribute to the next generation of Friends of the Children youth
