Visionaries

The Visionaries, the award-winning public television series hosted by acclaimed actor Sam Waterston of HBO’s The Newsroom and Grace and Frankie, and formerly of Law & Order, will feature Friends of the Children starting in March of 2018. Our innovative, evidence-based model, which is rapidly expanding across the country, pairs children facing the highest risks with a salaried, professional mentor, called a Friend, from kindergarten through high school graduation–12+ years, no matter what.

The Visionaries, now in its 22nd season, has produced more than 175 documentaries and is the winner of several Telly Awards and an Emmy nomination for Best Documentary. Season 22 is presented by PBS affiliate WGBY in Springfield, Mass.
