John and Geri Miner

Leveraging leadership.

John and Geri Miner make a dynamic team whose volunteer efforts have helped Friends of the Children thrive.

John is a former president of Intel Capital and Intel corporate vice president. Geri is a former retail owner with a marketing background. Together they bring their resources and experiences to help Friends of the Children with our mission–to make generational change for children facing the highest risks.

John and Geri are key members of the organization, having spent 15 years volunteering with Friends of the Children. Geri focuses on the Portland chapter, ensuring the success of the chapter’s annual auction, which last year brought in $1.9 million. John focuses on the National Board, where he leads the Endowment Committee and spearheads innovative fundraising plans.

“It has been a privilege to witness the evolution and success of Friends of the Children over the past 15 years. Friends of the Children is a results-driven organization and its impact is evident in the lives of the children we serve.”
