Originally from the Midwest, Mary Geissler is a graduate of St. Norbert College and has spent 15+ years honing her writing and project management skills within various positions. In 2013, she turned her focus to the nonprofit sector and began working with a consulting firm that served various nonprofits across Minneapolis-St. Paul. Once fully immersed in the fundraising world, Mary discovered her passion for cultivating partnerships with foundations and corporations through grant writing. In 2015, she transitioned to a grants manager role at Neighborhood House, a multiservice agency in St. Paul, where she worked to alleviate food insecurity, help families access safe housing, support immigrants in earning their GED, and give children in underserved communities the education they need and deserve.
In August 2018, she and her partner fled old man winter’s icy grip and moved from Minneapolis to Claremont, California. Prior to joining Friends of the Children, Mary worked within Claremont McKenna College’s Office of Institutional Philanthropy. She’s incredibly excited to apply her passion and talent to Friends of the Children's lifechanging programs. In her free time, Mary enjoys hiking, live music, exploring new restaurants, going to the beach, and snuggling with her pups.
