Elizabeth Hampton is a third-generation owner, shareholder, and director of Hampton Lumber Company, a family-owned wholesale lumber sales and manufacturing business established 1942 in Oregon. Elizabeth moved from Portland, OR to Denver, CO after attaining a B.A. at University of Puget Sound, then earned a B.S. in Nursing from University of Colorado at Denver. Elizabeth worked as an B.S.N. in a variety of surgical settings, labor and delivery, and hospice admissions for 25 years in Denver. Working with talented team members on trauma cases were her ultimate favorite types of cases. Working as a small business owner after her nursing career, Elizabeth owned and operated La Cave Wine Bar & Boutique for five years with her husband Youssef in Lakewood, CO, ultimately earning a two glass Wine Spectator Award.
Elizabeth now advocates for the health, safety, and well-being of roughly 1,600 employees at Hampton in over ten operational locations; is actively promoting next generation family transitions at the company; and is also busy creating change for a healthy future for all through philanthropic endeavors, with a variety of nonprofits, and holding former and current cabinet positions with The World Forestry Center and SMART (Start Making A Reader Today). Being a supporter of Friends of the Children in Oregon and beyond for many years, Elizabeth help establish a Friends of the Children location in Denver in 2026. Through these efforts, she is now honored to serve on their National Board.
Elizabeth’s home is in Golden, CO, and she enjoys travel for many months of the year in Spain, Morocco (and beyond) with Youssef, who is originally from Casablanca. She is always grateful and appreciative for time with her three adult daughters and two stepsons, wherever they all are in the world.
